Art Class at the MET

Art class kicked off 2023 with an amazing field trip to New York Metropolitan Museum of Art on January 5th. The visit started with walking through the Egyptian exhibition. The Met has an amazing collection of Egyptian art where you can look at the tombs and the Temple of Dendur which is one of the iconic and most beloved works of art at the Met, followed by a tour to the Native American exhibition where many Indigenous groups are represented, as well as major Native American aesthetic forms: painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles, quill and bead embroidery, basketry, and ceramics.

Students had the opportunity to have a lunch on the steps of the Met and enjoyed good NYC street food from the carts. The trip also included a scavenger hunt at the European painting section where they had to find works and tiles of work as an assignment. Thanks to Ms. Szabo and Ms. Atay for organizing this amazing field trip.
