Media Literacy Class hosts experts from the field
Media Literacy is a new course at Pioneer Academy instructed by journalist and prolific writer Mr. Aydogan Vatandas. In Media Literacy course the students are learning the nature of the Media and how it affects our lives, society, culture and political landscape both domestically and globally.'Since the course started, the students had the privilege to converse with distinguished journalists, editors, media professionals and scholars in the field.In the first of week of these media conversations, the Media Literacy students met with Mr. Hakan Yesilova, the Editor-in Chief of the Fountain Magazine.Second week of the session, the award-winning journalist Elisa Ung paid a visit to Media Literacy class to talk about her profession.Professor Lauhona Ganguly from the Media Studies Department of the New School in New York was the third guest of the course.Last week, Media Literacy students interviewed Mr. Frank Scandale about the new trends in the media industry. Scandale, the former Editor-in-Chief of the Bergen Record Daily, is currently working as the top strategist of several leading media outlets in the region.
