Students Help Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer Month!
Students Help Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer Month! On October 15th, students from Lifesavers club attended a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Parsippany, New Jersey. The students proudly walked along 13,500 participants including cancer survivors, cancer patients, those who have lost loved ones to cancer, and civilians who want to contribute. The purpose of this walk was not only to collect donations for ongoing cancer treatments or cancer survivors, but to also raise awareness for a crucial issue that affects every woman in the world. According to statistics, about 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. On this day, $715,000 was raised to help the American Cancer Society save lives against breast cancer. We are proud to have been a part of such as great cause!Sena SenturkInvestigative JournalistVildan CavdarSenior Editor
