The Montessori classroom operates on the principle of freedom within limits. Children are free to work at their own pace, alone, or with others. Children get to learn in a home-like classroom environment that allows them to feel safe and supported.
At Pioneer Montessori, materials are designed with the children in mind. These developmentally appropriate materials contribute to the growth and independence of all children in our program. Our older children help to teach our younger children what they have learned, helping them to become mature and responsible leaders of their community. Our younger children look to these older children as role models, which helps to facilitate the socialization and growth of all Pioneer Montessori students.
We encourage a balance of active, self-directed learning with small group collaboration and one-on-one teacher guided lessons.
Our educators help children understand how to problem solve and make connections. They help children to create new ideas and establish a foundation for learning by focusing on the child’s natural curiosity and sense of order. At Pioneer Montessori, the daily experiences of each child helps to foster physical, intellectual, creative, and social independence that will lay the foundation of their future.
